Reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed some massive news late on Saturday night – Manchester United had submitted a €38m offer for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
With only one year left on his deal at the Signal Iduna Park, Borussia Dortmund are expected to accept the generous offer for their soon-to-be out of contract midfield star.
The 27-year-old Armenian has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since Jose Mourinho took over and it appears the Portuguese boss is set to land his man.
Di Marzio claims the two clubs now just need to finalise the final documents before Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s €38m move is made official.
The very well respected Italian journalist also tonight reported that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would arrive in Manchester to sign on the dotted line on July 1st.
Where will Mkhitaryan fit?
Signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has become a Bundesliga star during his time with Borussia Dortmund but looks set to shine in the Premier League next season.
Spaniard Juan Mata – who was controversially sold under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea – is expected to make way for the technically gifted attacking midfielder.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic also expected to sign in the coming weeks, Manchester United’s potential attack (which already features Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford) is beginning to bring excitement back to fans of the Red Devils.
